Jo is a qualified Physiotherapist & Counsellor, as well as completing a professional year long Compassionate Inquiry course (my work is Compassionate Inquiry informed).
Jo is Heartmath Certified in Stress, Anxiety & Self Regulation, Heartmath Certified in Resilient Heart -Trauma Sensitive
Additionally, Jo has trained in Fascial Manipulation by Stecco levels 1-3, Mindfulness Based Stillness Meditation teacher- & is Trauma Sensitive with meditation. She also is a practitioner in an energy medicine technique called Unity Field Healing.
Jo now focuses on Somatic Therapy, as this assesses the whole person and considers how our unprocessed emotions, negative mental chatter and faulty beliefs are trapped in the body until integrated & unconsciously influence us & our decisions. Our body remembers everything, even if we have forgotten. Releasing these unprocessed energies assists us in accessing our own inner wisdom, so we can make better choices for a more joyful life.

I guide you to become aware of the patterns, emotions, beliefs from the past held in your body that may be contributing to chronic pain & illness or recurrent life issues so you can reconnect with yourself and your authenticity. So you can integrate these energy patterns so you can live a more joyful life by learning to connect with yourself- your inner wisdom.
How I work with body, mind, emotions & soul
I teach how everything is connected - how your symptoms are often linked to more than just the local area - context, beliefs, past history, other injuries & illnesses all influence how we perceive our symptoms and these need to be addressed to allow your body to heal itself. Let me be a catalyst that assists you to heal YOU! Usually significant changes are felt within 1-4 sessions....

Body
Our body is our vehicle through life, so we need to respect and revere it. The body has an amazing capacity to be in balance and most functions occur without us having to pay much attention to them. Most times the body if injured or sick has the capacity to recover and heal. If the normal time frames for recovery are exceeded or issues keep recurring then a health professional may be of benefit. I am interested in the conditions that do not recover as they should. I like to investigate where in the body-mind-soul totality the block may be occurring. The body stores unprocessed trauma/emotions/faulty beliefs in the body. The body keeps the score and says NO when we often cannot. Our body's are bio-plastic which means as long as we are breathing we have the potential to change...we can harness this ability consciously or unconsciously. Better results come from using these tools with conscious awareness. I can teach you how...
Mind
Our mind is much more than our brain. Our thoughts & beliefs play a huge role in our overall health and well being. Learning how to use the mind as a GPS system for attaining our goals is a great life skill. Knowing how to transform toxic thoughts & beliefs into wisdom & peace is also a great skill to have for navigating life. Every thought has energy- either assisting us to thrive or helping to keep us stuck in survival mode. Every thought or belief creates a reaction in us via an emotion and every emotion has a neurotransmitter or chemical that influences our cells. Learning how to peacefully co-exist with our thoughts and emotions is an important life skill to acquire....I can help you develop this...
Soul
We have expressions like- 'it was good for my soul', 'sell you soul',' soul destroying''bare your soul', the eyes are the windows of the soul'; we even have a mayday call -'save our souls' i.e. SOS. It cannot be measured (yet) but anything that gives us the feeling of something bigger than we are, or things that create a reaction of awe, as do many scenes in nature or the birth of a child etc can be described as being a spiritual or soulful event. Having meaning in our lives can be in this category. You may question this category's existence but you feel it when you fall in love or have to work in a job that you dislike. Just because it is not able to be seen does not mean it is not important. Just as electricity runs our appliances, I would argue our body's are run by the electricity of the soul.....There is a growing body of research into the human bio-field & Heartmath have amazing research into the heart and how heart rate variability can be a reliable indicator for health. They have interesting research into how the heart can electromagnetically influence every cell in our body including the brain. Heartmath can demonstrate how our intuition improves as we come into heart coherence/improved heart rate variability.
